It was based in 1922 by Edwin Meredith, who had previously been the United States Secretary of Agriculture beneath Woodrow Wilson. The unique identify was Fruit, Garden and Home from 1922 to 1924. The name was changed in 1925 to Better Homes and Gardens. The Burroughs Home, situated in the beautiful River District in Fort Myers, is the one home of its time nonetheless standing in its authentic location and open to the public.
