This pleasant garden — a reflection in landscape of Bach’s Suite No. 1 in G Major for unaccompanied cello, BWV 1007 — was designed by internationally renowned cellist Yo Yo Ma and landscape designer Julie Moir Messervy, in collaboration with panorama architects from the City of Toronto’s Parks and Recreation division. The vegetation in this garden are all native to Asia, and include camellias, azaleas, mondo grass and Japanese maples. The Junior Master Gardener program is a world youth gardening program of the college cooperative Extension network. A garden shed may be converted right into a play area for teenagers full with sofas and books or video games.
